3RV (reduction, re-use, recycling, reclamation)
The order of priority for managing residual materials: reduction at source first, then re-use, recycling and reclamation, with disposal last. The Environment Quality Act imposes this order on Québec’s residual materials management policy (s. 53.4.1). On a site, it guides the choice of materials and the sorting of debris to reduce what gets disposed of.
